Trauma presents itself in many different ways – for some that can mean an unhealthy, binge eating, type of obsession with food. That’s right, sometimes “comfort food” runs much deeper than just easing daily stress.
For Tricia Nelson, this was a hard lesson to be learned. With a love for food at a very young age, it easily became an addiction to help cope with a dysfunctional family and a mask to cover the shame of sexual abuse. Tricia Nelson is an internationally acclaimed author, transformational TEDx speaker and emotional eating expert. She has spent the past 30 years studying addictive personalities – and successfully helped thousands of people heal their relationship with food, by looking at ways trauma can impact what and why you eat.
