Dr. Peter Kan spent the early years of his life growing up in Taiwan where he was part of a very traditional Chinese society and culture. This would later affect him, at the age of 13, when his father decided to move the family to the United States despite not knowing a word of English.
Peter struggled greatly with the language and cultural barrier that he faced – basically feeling as though he was starting over. As a result, he constantly surrounded himself with friends who could speak Chinese in an attempt to feel like he fit in. With years of working hard Peter was able to overcome his struggles and by college felt as though his English was finally good enough to make American friends!
In this podcast Dr. Keesha is joined by her colleague and dear friend, Dr. Peter Kan to discuss the relationship between generational and personal trauma and your neurobiology. Dr. Kan has a deep appreciation for Eastern and Western advances in natural healthcare and strongly believes in the God-given ability for the body to heal and regulate itself by proper alignment of the body, mind, and spirit.
